Tulsi, commonly known as Holy Basil, is regarded as a therapeutic botanical indigenous to India. Tulsi is an aromatic herb that has been used for over 3000 years in Ayurvedic medicine and has been referred to as “Elixir of Life” for its highly revered culinary and medicinal properties*. The small, leafy plant is considered sacred in many cultures and grows abundantly throughout Southeast Asia. The leaves of the plant are easily dried and can be consumed as steeped tea, as tinctures and in various recipes for cooking.
Tulsi is considered an adaptogenic herb, which means a class of herbs that can help the body to deal with outside stressors and can promote a sense of well-being**. Tulsi also contains vital nutrients including vitamins A, C and calcium, zinc and iron. Including these vitamins and nutrients in your wellness routine through Tulsi tea is a great way to support the body, improve mood and increase the body’s protection against free radicals.
